Timothy Dimoff on Safety and Security
A former award winning narcotics detective and SWAT Team member, Dimoff utilized his vast law enforcement experience when founding SACS Consulting, Inc., a firm dedicated to helping corporations and others gain control of spiraling workplace crime and other high risk workplace issues. He is board certified by ASIS (American Society of Industrial Security) as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP™), a designation that indicates board certification in security management and is recognized worldwide as the highest recognition accorded a security practitioner. He is also TASA (Technical Advisory Services of America) registered legal expert in human resource, management training, police/private security and corporate security procedures.
Additionally, Tim Dimoff is a nationally certified A.L.i.C.E. trainer and offers the program to schools, churches, and businesses who want to be prepared should an active shooter attack their building. A.L.i.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, inform, Counter, Evacuate) utilizes new strategies such as environmental design, technology and communication, law enforcement response and informative action to increase the odds of survival for those under attack.
Dimoff is a sought after speaker, trainer, investigator, and expert legal witness. As a consultant to law enforcement and the media, Dimoff has been called upon to examine evidence from crime scenes, and victim and witness reports to develop an offender profile. He is a nationally recognized expert on violent behavior and criminal investigation, and has provided crime commentary and profiling analysis on television and radio appearances in the U.S. including MSNBC, CNN, and Internationally with 60 minutes Australia, BBC World News London, England and several others. He has been featured in national newspapers including The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal, as well as in many major publications.
Dimoff is the author of four books, including How to Recognize Substance Abuse, and Life Rage, a chilling examination of societal rage and safeguards against it. He is also nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in developing training programs for corporations, law enforcement, security agencies, government agencies and others.
Winner of innumerable state and local awards for business, safety, leadership and civic achievement, Dimoff and SACS Consulting was awarded the Weatherhead 100 Award as one of Ohio’s fastest-growing companies. He was also named “Best Speaker in Northeast Ohio” by Inside Business Magazine, January 2008.
Dimoff is a member of the Technical Advisory Services of America, a national expert witness service utilized by attorneys across the nation; the Ohio and International Narcotic Associations; the Ohio and National Society for Human Resource Managers; and the American Society for Industrial Security. He serves on the board of directors of The Victim Assistance Program in Akron, Ohio.
Dimoff holds a B.S. in Sociology, with an emphasis in criminology, from Denison University. He is also a certified instructor in both law enforcement and private security, and an advocate for stronger laws protecting and assisting victims of crime.
